The 5 Simple Rules To SUP

Stand Up PaddleBoarding (SUP) is riding a large board similar to a surfboard with a single paddle to propel yourself forward while standing up. PaddleBoards come in a variety of sizes for various rider weights and can carry hundreds of pounds depending on the board. Our Yolo Hammerheads are 10ft 6inch long and can accommodate two hundred and twenty five pounds. These boards are incredible stable and able to support the rider with ease. If you’re new to Sup or looking to improve your sup technique follow these 5 simple rules.

  1. Hold the paddle facing the right direction. The blade should be angled away from the rider.

  2. Place one hand on the end of the carry grip and the other hand in the middle of the paddle.

  3. Paddle with Confidence. Perform full range of motion with the paddle starting near the front of the board and pulling the paddle back toward your ankles while the entire blade is underwater.

  4. Place your feet just behind the carry handle, stand shoulder width apart with knees slightly bent.

  5. Look to the horizon if you feel like you are going to fall.

I hope this information will help you to be a better paddler and allow you to fully enjoy the awesome experience that paddleboarding gives. Get out and paddle yall! We’ll see ya on the water!
